Aloud
Read out loud. See what came out differently.
Aloud gives you a short passage from a real book, you read it out loud, and it shows you word by word what it heard. The words that came out differently are marked — and the words it simply could not make out are marked as that, in grey, because those are not your fault.
Everything happens on your iPhone. Your voice is never uploaded, there is no

What it does
- 120 graded passages per language, from books old enough to be in the public domain, sorted into Easy, Medium and Hard.
- Six languages — English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese — free to read in all of them.
- The sound behind your misses. When several words fail for the same reason, Aloud names the sound and gives you a passage full of it.
- A list of the words you keep missing, which empties itself once you read them right twice.
- Your own text, pasted in or photographed straight off the page of a book you own.
What it costs
The first five readings have everything open. After that, reading and scoring stay free forever, in all six languages, and one payment keeps the coaching. There is no subscription.
